As-salāmu ʿalaykum from Mamador Cooking Oil.

Tips on Healthy Fasting:

  1. Don’t skip Suhoor (pre-dawn meal). Skipping Suhoor (Pre-dawn meal) to enjoy uninterrupted sleep may sound pleasing but don’t. This encourages over-eating during Iftar, which can cause unhealthy weight gain.
  1. The Muslim fast means a complete abstinence from eating or drinking between daybreak and sunset. Therefore there is a likelihood you will feel dehydrated and tired during the day, ensure you take lots of water during Suhoor(pre-dawn meal ). Alternative fluids include juices, milk, beverages and soups but water is the best choice. Avoid over- exposure to the sun during the day.
  2. Don’t over-eat during Iftar (dinner). Overeating when it’s time to break the fast can harm your body. Iftar should be a well-proportioned, nutritious meal and not a feast! Excessive consumption or over-eating may result in indigestion and weight gain.
  3. Consuming fibre-rich foods during Ramadan is ideal as they are digested slower than processed foods so you feel full longer. Incorporate foods from all the major food groups including fruit and vegetables.
